Dr. Merv Madill
Dr. Madill grew up on a mixed farm in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan and has enjoyed being around animals his entire life. He joined the Corydon Animal Hospital in 1972 after receiving his DVM from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. Veterinary medicine has gone through major changes during his long career. He recognizes that the task of keeping up to date with the most current diagnostic methods is made all the more challenging by the fact that the anatomy and physiology of cats and dogs differ in many significant ways. He enjoys all aspects of the profession and takes particular pleasure in enhancing the quality of life for his patients. He enjoys taking long walks with his Golden Retriever Sophie. He also has two cats, Stella and Toodles. His interests include slo-pitch baseball, cross-country skiing, traveling and flying small aircraft.
Dr. Steven Strauss
Dr. Strauss joined the Corydon Animal Hospital team in 1981. He earned a BSc from McGill University and a DVM from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, where he received the Schering Award. He has a special interest in internal medicine, cardiology, clinical pathology and exotics. He enjoys dealing with the wide variety of species and breeds that come into the hospital and he strives to make his patients’ visits as stress free as possible. His current pets include three cats: Piper (a RagaMuffin), Pyewacket (a RagaMuffin), and Poo (an American Bobtail rescue). In his spare time Dr. Strauss enjoys gardening, playing ping pong and cross-country skiing. He is also an avid reader of scientific books and articles.
Dr. Dawn Lameg
Dr. Lameg grew up on an acreage north of Winnipeg. From her first job as a teenager in a veterinary clinic she has worked exclusively in the veterinary field. After earning a BSc, she entered the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. Upon graduation she worked as a veterinarian in Regina, Saskatchewan before returning home to Manitoba and she has been with the Corydon Animal Hospital since 1996. In addition to her husband and two daughters, her family includes two small dogs, Is He, a Miniature Schnauzer and Harley Ruffalo, a Shih Tzu cross. She enjoys pen and ink sketching and has recently dabbled in watercolours. Dr. Lameg has a special interest in dermatology and enjoys seeing patients go home healthy and happy.
Dr. Amber Ly
Dr. Amber Ly graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Ly has special interest in dermatology, ophthalmology and surgery. Dr. Ly has 3 family dogs, Hunny, Jetta and Mabel which she loves taking for long runs and to the dog park. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, cycling and spending time with her family and friends. She has been to over 20 countries and has her advanced PADI certification.
